Over 20% of the energy consumption in built-up environments is dedicated to lighting systems. This means that there is a large potential for savings here. New technologies provide us with the opportunity to further reduce the energy consumption of lighting systems. Take, for example, (O)LED technology, new systems that utilise more daylight, and advanced light-management and switching systems.

The integrated approach taken by Deerns when designing building-related systems, in combination with ample experience and knowledge of these new technologies, will result in low energy consumption, increased sustainability, and low operating costs. To indicate how much energy may be saved by lighting, Deerns has contributed to the ISSO publication no. 90: ‘Energy-efficient lighting in and around buildings’.
